Ametrine

Ametrine is a naturally occurring variety of quartz. It is a rare and has an unusual mixture of amethyst and citrine, with zones of purple and yellow or orange. Ametrine is mined and found only in Bolivia.

The orange colour within Ametrine is due to oxidation of iron within the crystal. The different oxidation states occur due to a change in temperature gradient across the crystal during its formation.

Ametrine is very helpful in getting rid of depression. This leads to inner peace and tranquility.

Many believe that it contains the power of Amethyst and Citrine in one crystal, thus making it a very powerful money luck enhancing stone as well as an excellent stone for higher psychic awareness and spiritual enlightenment.

Angelite or Blue Anhydrite is a fairly new discovery in the gem and mineral world. Discovered in 1987 in Peru, during the Harmonic Conversion, its colours may be white, grey or bluish grey to violet. Angelite is formed from Celestite, that has been compressed over millions of years.

Bronzite is usually found in the USA, Austria, England, South Africa, India, Norway, and Greenland. It is a silicate compound of magnesium and iron from the pyroxene family, which are normally found in meteoroids and in igneous rock deep below earth.

OM

Om or Aum is a sacred syllable that symbolizes the omnipotent and the source of all existence. Om, therefore, represents both the unmanifested (nirguna) and manifested (saguna) aspects of Life. The sound of Om is also called Pranava, meaning that it sustains life and runs through Prana or breath.

The Music of Om

Om is not a word but rather an intonation, which, like music, it transcends the barriers of age, race, culture and even species. It is made up of three Sanskrit letters, aa, au and ma which, when combined together, make the sound Aum or Om. It is believed to be the basic sound of the world and to contain all other sounds. If repeated with the correct intonation, it can resonate throughout the body so that the sound penetrates to the centre of one's being, the atman or soul. Harmony, peace and bliss is achieved simply by vibrating the sacred syllable Om.

The Vision of Om

Om provides a dualistic viewpoint. On one hand, it projects the mind beyond the abstract and inexpressible. On the other hand, it makes the absolute more tangible and comprehensive. It encompasses all potentialities and possibilities; it is everything that was, is, or can yet be. It is omnipotent and likewise remains undefined.

The Power of Om

During meditation, when we chant Om, we create within ourselves a vibration that drives away all worldly thoughts and removes distraction and infuses new vigour in our body. The momentary silence between each chant becomes palpable. The mind moves between the opposites of sound and silence until, at last, it ceases the sound.

This is the state of trance, where the mind and the intellect are transcended as the individual self merges with the Infinite Self in a moment of realization. It is a moment when the worldly affairs are lost in the desire for the universe. Such is the immeasurable power of Om. When you chant Om, you feel you are the pure, light and consciousness.

Meditation on Om

Retire to a quite place, sit down, close your eyes and completely relax your muscles and nerves. Concentrate on the space between your eyebrows and quietness and silence of the conscious mind. Begin to repeat "Om" mentally. You must repeat Om with the feeling that you are the infinite. Mere repetition of Om will not bring the desired result. Keep the meaning of Om always at heart. Feel Om. Feel that you are the pure, perfect, eternal, and free. Feel that you are absolute consciousness of the unchanging existence. Every part of your body should vibrate with these ideas. This feeling should be kept up all day long. Practice regularly and steadily with sincerity, faith, perseverance and enthusiasm in the morning, midday and evening.

 

Organ Clock

Since ancient times, people have studied extensively about the flow of energy in the body and how it manifests into a disease when this flow of energy is disturbed. The Indian traditional medicine, Ayuvedic, the Greek medical theories and also the Oriental practices all studied the flow of energy in our body. Even the earliest medical reference from Ancient Egypt around 2500 BC was based on the same principle.

I am a crystal healer and by understanding the fundamentals of the “vital life force” and its flow from one organ to another, I have successfully form a holistic therapy in alternative healing with the use of natural crystals with the traditional Oriental theory of Qi. I have also combined the use of the organ clock, a technique which traces the 12 phases of changes in the body. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Organ Clock can be used to diagnose energy disturbances in the body. With the Organ Clock, the specific conditions of illness can be recognized and remedied. The use of the Organ Clock conforms to all Oriental study of Philosophy, primarily the balance of Yin and Yang, the five elements and the climate changes. In addition, I have introduced the use of natural crystals in this therapy. By understanding the origin of an ailment, the flow of the energy, and the location of the disturbance of energy. We can simply place the right crystal along the right meridian at the right time. In this way, we can expedite the healing process of the body and thus achieve full recovery of any illness.

The time at which certain disturbances arise or intensify are directly connected to an organ. Disturbances caused by excessive functioning often emerge during the peak time of the organ time while disturbances caused by suppressed functions often manifest during the lowest time of the organ clock (this is 12 hours before or after the peak hour). A typical example is when a person always wakes up at 4am, this may indicate excessive lung function (peak hour for lungs) or a weak bladder (the lowest point for the bladder). In order to assess accurately, one must be able to identify if the organ show indication of excessive function or suppressive functions. Hot flashes, pain, surge of energy or bloated feelings are strong indicators of excessive functioning while weakness, chills and sensory disturbances are indication of suppressed functions. These observations should always be taken into consideration when choosing the healing stone.

The simplest applications are wearing the healing stones as a pendant, bracelet or as anklets. Chain worn around the neck and bracelets worn around the wrists or ankles will reach the blood, lymph, nerves and meridians that run through these points, thus treating the whole body. The healing stone can also be placed on the area of complaint. This applies to the area where the corresponding physical organs are located.

3am to 5 am – The Lungs 肺
The start of the day begins with the time of the Lungs, Excessive functions of the lungs manifest in a form of oversensitive and results in allergies like sinus or hives. However when it is weakened, respiratory diseases like cold and asthma developed. Rock crystals and Moss Agate strengthens the immune system and prevents allergies. The latter also cleanses the skin and eases excessive sweating and eczema. Amber and Rutillated Quartz can also be used to treat the Lungs.

Amethyst

5am to 7am – The Large Intestine 大肠
The main function of the Large Intestines is the removal of substances that are no longer useful. Elimination through the skin in the form of perspiration also belongs to the function of the large intestines. If the elimination function is too strong, it will lead to diarrhea. While a weak elimination function will lead to constipation and flatulence. Amethyst improves elimination through the large intestines and skin by releasing tension of the mind. Jasper removes harmful contaminants like heavy metals.

7am to 9am – The Stomach 胃
The Stomach is where assimilation takes place. This refers to the body’s ability to digest nourishment. Strengthening the stomach is important as deficiencies lead to under nourishment and other health problems. Adequate nutrition and sufficient rest and exercise help with strengthening the stomach function. Wearing Petrified Wood helps to reduce excessive eating while citrine helps with the digestion and processing of food. Magnesite, Pyrite and Heliotrope can also be used to treat discomfort of the Stomach.

Malachite

9am to 11am – The Spleen 脾
The Spleen’s function is the management of resources from our nourishment. It distributes the nourishment from our food intake to all the other organs. Disturbance in the spleen leads to malnutrition and weakness. The blood does not stay in its channels which lead to bruising or irregular menstrual flow. Citrine promotes good overall distribution of energy while Jade, Azurite and Malachite can all be used to treat disturbances of the Spleen.

11am to 1pm – The Heart 心
The Heart governs the body via the brain and the five senses. This is achieved through the flow of blood via the vessels. Excessive heart function increases blood pressure and sleeplessness while a weak heart manifest into anemia and giddiness. Both forms of heart disturbance may influence the clarity of mind and creates confusion and hallucinations. Rose Quartz and Green Tourmaline strengthens the Heart while Kunzite and Rhodochrosite improves congested blood vessels and improves blood circulation.

Carnelian

1pm to 3pm – The Small Intestine 小肠
The Small Intestine works like a filtration organ which filters the nourishment and removes the unwanted waste. Disturbances in the small intestine result in malnutrition which leads to deficiencies or poisoning. The Small Intestine benefits from rest or from wearing Carnelian which improves nutrient intake and helps with deficiencies. Agate is helpful for disturbances caused by stress that result in irritable bowel syndrome. Smoky Quartz and Red Jasper also help with the strengthening of the Small Intestine.

3pm to 5pm – The Bladder 膀胱
The Bladder compliments the function of the kidneys by storing energy reserves for the body. Suppressed Bladder function leads to incontinence while excessive Bladder function weakens the body. Sufficient sleep and drinking plenty of water helps to strengthen the Bladder. Other Healing Stones like Jade and Heliotrope also has the same function.

5pm to 7pm – The Kidneys 肾
Excessive functions of the Kidney lead to restlessness, hectic behavior and insomnia while weak Kidney function manifests into lack of energy, fear and anxiety. In traditional Chinese medicine, the Kidneys affect fertility and it is therefore important to treat any imbalance of energy in the Kidneys. Ruby Zoisite helps with fertility and also maintains youth and vitality to support an active sex life while Carnelian and Rutillated Quartz help to improve the Kidney function.

7pm – 9pm – The Pericardium 心包
In traditional Chinese Medicine, the Pericardium function is sometimes known as the heart circuit or the circuit of sexuality. While the functions of the kidneys govern fertility, the pericardium rules the pleasure and gratification associated with it. Suppressed Pericardium function leads to nervousness and lack of interest in sex while excessive functions causes over excitement but can lead to an inability to concentrate for long period of time. Heliotrope and Fire Agate calms chronic nervousness and helps with insomnia while Garnet and Rhodochrosite strengthens desire, eroticism and sexuality.

Carnelian Tumble

9pm to 11pm – The Triple Heater 
According to Chinese medicine text, there are three “hot spots” in the human body. These “hot spots” are known as the triple heater which corresponds to breathing, digestion and elimination. The Triple Heater generally describes how body heat is produced, distributed and used to maintain the body’s defence system. Excessive functions would result in too much heat and causes fever while a suppressed triple heater will result in chills and cold. Carnelian and Red Jasper calms hot flushes and chills thus balancing the body heat while Mahogany Obsidian promotes swift warming throughout the body and warms cold hands and feet.

11pm to 1am – The Gallbladder 胆囊
The Gallbladder compliments the liver function and is thus seen as an important organ to maintain a strong immune system. The Gallbladder works best at night so early rest is encouraged for a healthy Gallbladder. Excessive Gallbladder function manifest to mood swing and anger while suppressive function leads to cowardice and inability to make decisions. Labrodorite helps with anger management and soothes impatience and irritability. Wearing Aventurine calms the inner self and promotes good sleep while Turquoise is helpful for chronic tension and cramps.

Brown Aragonite

1am to 3am – The Liver 肝
The Liver sends life energy and blood in all directions to maintain good organ function. Disturbance in the Liver leads to imbalance and stagnation in both blood and emotion which results in a form of rage. Suppressed Liver function leads to poor appetite, weak muscles, poor eyesight and overall weakness. Brown Aragonite helps with lack of energy by improving appetite and strengthening the muscles. Amazonite and Chrysocolla calms mood swing and remove intense feelings such as jealousy and envy.

The healing stones for the organ clock correspond to the energetic seeds of the physical disturbances or illnesses. 5 Elements

Medical science has developed anti-biotic to tame even the deadliest diseases. However, with each medical breakthrough, new threats continue to affect our lives. To a Chinese practitioner, the balance of various elements are also important, especially the Yin and Yang – opposite forces that complement each other. Yin and Yang are sometimes described as the male and female energies. Each of us contains both. Yin is soft while Yang is forceful. We need a balance of the two to create healthy Qi and prevent illness because too much or too little of either causes a blockage in its circulation.

The traditional Chinese view is that when creation took place the Yin and Yang brought forth the five elements water, wood, fire, earth and metal. The harmony of this cycle is the basis for health in humans. Disturbances and disharmony of this cycle often lead to illness.

Wood 木
Wood represents the vegetative life within man; all the activities that continue when unconscious such as digestion, heart beat, respiration and basic metabolism. It is associated with the liver which affects the muscles, tendons, and ligaments and is related to the eyes. The season of wood is spring, the time of growth and beginnings. It nourishes fire and controls earth.

Fire 火
Fire symbolizes the combustion that occurs within the body. It is vibrant and energizing. Fire corresponds to the season of summer, the time of the year for the greatest amount of activity. It nourishes earth and controls metal. It is associated with the heart which in turn nourishes the circulatory system. The heart, small intestines and pericardium is adversely affected by excess heat.

Earth 土
Earth symbolizes stability. Every life on earth has its “roots” in earth, grows from earth and returns to it upon death. To be “grounded” means to be balanced and consistent in the play of forces in the world. Earth is associated with the spleen and connective tissue and is related to the sense of taste. When in balance the individual is mentally stable, contented and experiences physical and social well being. Earth nourishes metal and controls water. Its function areas are the spleen and stomach.

Metal 金
Metal represents firmness. The season of metal is autumn, it is a time of transition and letting go. It nourishes water and controls wood. The skin, the largest organ of the body corresponds to metal. It is associated with the lungs which nourish the skin. Those whose metal is well balanced are strong, have healthy assimilation and elimination and are resistant to diseases.

Water 水
Water is the basic requirement in life. The water in our body nourishes and maintains the health of every cell. An imbalance of the body fluid will result in diseases. It is associated with the kidney, which nourishes the bones, hair and teeth. The season of water is winter and it nourishes wood and controls fire.

The Chinese believe that a balance of the 5 elements and a healthy emotional state of mind is indispensable in achieving a good healthy body. Excessive anger, grief, fear, anxiety and even joy will result in poor health. More correctly, they are the manifestation of imbalances in the five elements.

Anger is related to wood. Anger from resentment affects the Liver energy. Prolonged anger causes Qi to rise, resulting in thirst, dizziness and most commonly palpitations. The Chinese believe that the inability to express anger is seen as a weakness in the wood element. This will result in a state of repression and overtime, diseases will set in. Excessive excitement can lead to over stimulation of the heart causing mental restlessness, insomnia and mouth ulcers. This is seen as harmful to the fire of the body which affects the heart. Sadness and grief affects the balance of water energy in the body and can cause a deficiency of Lung energy, which impairs the Lungs’ ability to distribute Qi throughout the body. This depletion of Qi can also interfere with the Heart and can lead to tiredness, breathlessness and depression. Earth is related to the centre and being grounded can allow us to experience empathy and calmness. The balance of earth also helps to heighten concentration level.

Each of the emotions affects the harmony of a particular organ. Since fighting such disturbance creates even more conflict, the Oriental way is to observe them with awareness and through Meditation, a proper diet and ample rest can naturally dissipate these disturbing energy. Although the Oriental and Western medicine are able to treat the same conditions, practitioners from the East and West diagnose an ailment in different ways. Western physician uses medicine to suppress the symptoms, thus overlooking the cause for the disease. The Oriental way, however, try to look for a complete picture of their patient. In fact the most fundamental concept of oriental medicine is that your body, mind and spirit are all interdependent. They affect one another at all levels.
